470 kilometers made. Almost all of them are also coming to send us off from the Astana Tower next midday;
some are ready to accompany us almost to the Pavlodar at the border. However, it’s raining hard, so we are trying to tell them not to. We feel as if we have known each other for ages. The strong wind is blowing, temperature is low, it’s raining every now and then, but the drive is still groovy. ON THE WAY OF FREEDOM! No speed limits! Bikes are feeling wonderful and so do we. At least in the North of Kazakhstan the roads are better than these in Latvia and we are surprised about it, since after McGregor’s movie, one should drive a tank here. There is steppe lying on both sides of the road, almost no cars and no worries about the police since they have no slightest interest about speed limit exceeding. It’s unbelievable but it’s true! There is another surprise for us in Pavlodar: we are welcomed in the president’s apartments in the hotel, plus another fiest: this time we get to try a national dish beshbarmak, made of horse beef. Recommended to everyone! This is the greatest gift after two weeks on the way.
