150 kilometers made. Our heavy bags are packed in the Jeep, so we are flying as if we suddenly got wings. The weather has also improved: it’s about +20 C and no single cloud in the sky.
We are not getting onwards very fast, though, since operator is taking a movie, too. We are driving through the Western Gobi stones desert towards the Lake of Orug Nuur. This is the area that in 1957 was destroyed by force ten earthquake. The locals still remember it and tell that for four days the sky and the land have exchanged places and one couldn’t see a meter further because of the dust; ibex came down for the hills and joined the domestic herds. However, we can’t get closer to the lake since the area is swampy and scrubby. So, we pitch our tent in the middle of nowhere and watch the elegant appearance of the Moon.
