140 kilometers made. In the morning we are packing and getting ready to leave. We have received extra clothing and food, so now we have to get it in our bags somehow.
Now what’s this? A real royal omelet for breakfast! This is so weird to have this after yesterday’s thin fried eggs. Turns out it’s a new shift in our hotel cafe. Next we find the telegraph in the town with unusually friendly staff that helps us to fight tons of received business letters. In te afternoon we finally get out on route M-52, so called Chuysky Road that lies along the Katun River. We turn right by Cherga and head to Ust-Kan. It is raining time after time and it is getting dark all of a sudden. Totally unprepared for the sudden darkness we are looking for a tent place in the cedar-pined forest. It’s pretty tough to make a fire, too, since everything is wet. When we finally manage and even the water is almost boiling, it begins raining hard again and destroys all our efforts, so we just go to sleep hungry.
