400 kilometers made. Finally! Finally the sun is shining! Even though it’s pretty cold, we are happy to see it, and driving is fantastic today, too.

We are back on Chuysky Road where the surfacing is very good and scenery is even better. The only thing that bothers us is locals who gather around everytime we stop. Before coming to Altay we had this idea to visit some mountain villages and chat with the inhabitants and to find out about their lifestyle, traditions etc.; by now we clearly know that it’s a totally useless because most of them have degraded completely. The situation is a bit better in Kosh-Agach, a regional center, since most of locals are Kazakh, so there finally are smiley faces, too. Kosh-Agach is a village with a mosque in the middle and some weird wooden houses with no roofs, the entire place, surrounded by snowy mountains, seems very cozy. We find a place to stay very quickly and it’s just 150 rubles each (about 4,5 $).
