220 kilometers made. Allegedly, today we will have one of the most difficult parts of the road in this country: the one from Siem Riep to the border of Thailand.
However, yesterday’s rain made it even worse: here is where we really felt the advantage of our vehicles. We left hundreds of tourist buses, jeeps and cars on the overflown road. All together, it was overflown during some hundred kilometers, of which about thirty we had to drive by the water. Mostly, the depth was about thirty centimeters, but sometimes the seat came under water, too. Hence, we were at the border about 2PM and there is more news: one needs a civil insurance to cross it and the closest place to buy it lies in ten kilometers from here. However, we get it. Then we have to fill in a bunch of weird papers considering our bikes. We could get through without ATA carnet; yet, I am not sure what is waiting for us on the other side of the country, at the exit, so I’d rather show it here. Also here no one is certain of how to fill its rows correctly. At 5PM we are in Thailand.
