The equator crossed!

540 kilometers made. Our only chance to get to Dili at time is to get up at 5AM and use the entire day to get as far as we can while the light is up.

Before 8AM we reach the Western coast of Sumatra and the Indian Ocean comes to our eyes. At midday we finally cross the equator and right after that there comes an event I was expecting long ago: the road accident. The bud driving right afore me intercepts me all of a sudden, and all I can do is jam the brakes on and lay my bike on its side. However, it’s not enough and I still run into him. Thank God his cargo I fall into was some kind of rags, not the brick or else I am afraid to fancy what would happen to me. I am all fine, however, my bike is damaged, and its front is all deformed. It’s still not the worst of what could have happened: at least, the gab is at the place and the lamp is not broken. Bus driver admits his fault: he looks more scared than I am and begs us not to call the police. Well, we don’t since it’s useless anyway. At 8PM we stop trying to fix my bike by ourselves and now are trying to figure out how many kilometers are left until Java Island in hope that it will be easier there.
