Andis and Jānis had to return to Bali Island because ferry traffic from East Timor to Australia is cancelled for an unknown time period.
The place we stay at Bali Island is named same as the one at Lombok Island; however, these two places named Kuta are so different that one can’t even compare them. Two years ago Kuta at Bali Island was blown up and it looks like Muslim terrorists have done their trick: the place formerly known as the big tourism centre now is dead; bars, and hotels stand empty and local inhabitants are in deep depression. This is not the funniest place to stay at right now, but we have to do our business, so we don’t look for a better one. We spend the entire day by signing papers in the airport and cleaning our bikes. They have to look like totally new when they arrive to Australia or else they will be quarantined for two weeks. Australians are very serious about this stuff, trying to save their land from infections and diseases coming from Southeastern Asia.
