380 kilometers made. The rest of the road is much easier than everything we’ve seen before. We are on our way to Banyuvangi harbor and enjoy the scenery around.
By the roadside there are awesome fruit markets and fruitsmen are offering us to try their goods: mango, jackfruits, durians and other unseen things. In Banyuvangi we again catch the nearest ferry, so we get away very soon; just the tickets this time are three times more expensive than it was between Sumatra and Java. In any case, we are away from Java Island and we didn’t like it much more than Sumatra; it’s not for bikes and bikers. It takes two hours for the ferry to get to Bali Island and we are baking up on the main deck. At 3AM we finally are at Gilimanuk harbor in Bali. We’ve decided to move along the East coast which is less covered with buildings and, hence, wilder. In already ten kilometers or so we notice that the traffic is much easier and better than in two previous is lands: finally we are also enjoying the ride. There is also less Muslim stuff around since 90% of locals are Hinduists. In an hour we stop for the night at a cozy wooden guesthouse located by Java Sea shore and wearing a very promising name “Nirvana”.
