The town has been renovated already and the unaware would never guess what a catastrophe has touched this place in 2004.

In the evening Patong Beach wakes to nightlife. There is a huge amount of transvestites in bright outfits inviting to their shows and offering to take a picture for few dollars. Street counters are full with the seafood: lobsters, squids and tiger prawns are longing in the ice and acting fresh which is not always as true as tourists may think. Most often, the local fishermen are not able to provide enough of seafood for all the visitors, hence, lots of seafood is coming from the remote corners of Thailand and sometimes are taking a few days long trip. Among all the seafood and trannies there are small females dressed up in akha tribal clothing, the tribe that in fact lives one and half thousand kilometers north. They sell wooden frogs and bijouterie. The feeling is awesome, very unique!
